Thing You need To Know

How to Install TWRP 3.0.0 Custom Recovery on LG G4

Step 1 – Make sure ADB and Fastboot is configured on your PC. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK. This is important!

Step 2 –
Connect LG G4 to your PC with a USB cable and install ADB drivers.

Step 3 –Download the Twrp v3.0.0 Custom Recovery For LG G4 and copy/paste it in the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory of your Pc.

Step 4 – Now Boot your LG G4 to Fastboot/Bootloader mode. To do that connect your device to your pc then Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > OpenCommand Prompt).

Step 5 – Type in the following command and press Enter.

adb reboot bootloader

Step 6 – LG G4 will switch OFF and then boot into the Fastboot Mode.

Step 7 – Then type the following command and press Enter.

fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.0-0-h815.img

Step 8 – Once completed, choose RECOVERY from the Fastboot menu and enter Recovery Mode. Navigate up and down using the volume keys.

Step 9 – If you see TWRP Recovery, then everything so far has been successfully performed and custom recovery is installed.

Step 10 – Since everything is going on well, you can go back to your normal phone by rebooting LG G4. Select “reboot system now” from the recovery menu. The phone will boot now.

 Your LG G4 should be updated with the TWRP Recovery v3 and fully working on your phone.

How to boot to Recovery Mode? Turn OFF your phone. Switch ON your phone again by holding Volume Up + Power buttons together and you will be taken directly to the TWRP Touch Recovery menu.
